About me

Zahra Mani (UK / PK) is a musician and composer who lives between Austria and Croatia.

Her work focuses on complex resonances, on sounds and spaces “between”. She plays various instruments including double bass, bass guitar, guitar, piano, and keyboards and uses laptops and electronic matrices to relay her constantly evolving archive of field and studio recordings, which form the basis of her compositions, installations, radio art and live performances.

She studied German and philosophy at Oxford, and music performance and composition at Bard College, NY. Recent collaborations include inter-medial work with Mia Zabelka, Mia Makela, Rie Nakajima. Curatorial work includes “Phonart – the Lost Languages of Europe”, a European network project, and collaborations with Karin Schorm.
